Here you can battle or train against members. Right at the bottom of the thread you can find a glossary for the terms used in this thread.
The difference between battle and train: Battle: The loser will lose some items and money to the winner. Train: Both sides will gain experience points. No money or items gained or lost. Both training and battles will be reffered as battling below.
You can choose to challenge one member or have a tag-team battle where you dual up with another member to take on two other members.
After challenging the member, the challenger chooses how many pokemon will be involved in the battle. The maximum is 3. A 1-on-1 member battle: 2 pokemon can be battling at once against each other(if the challenger choses 2 or 3 pokemon). If you each have 3 pokemon, when one of your 2 pokemon faints then your back-up pokemon will take its place in the battle. A 2-on-2 members battle: 1 pokemon from each member will be battling. As one of your pokemon faints, one of your back-up pokemon will take its place. If you have no more pokemon left you're out and can just watch the battle but if your battle buddy still has back-up pokemon once you've left, that pokemon can take your pokemon's place.
Examples on battle set-outs:
A 1-on-1 member battle: 1 pokemon Member 1's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 2's pokemon is on the field battling.
A 1-on-1 member battle: 2 pokemon Member 1's pokemon are on the field battling. Member 2's pokemon are on the field battling.
A 1-on-1 member battle: 3 pokemon Member 1's pokemon are on the field battling. Member 2's pokemon are on the field battling. One of Member 1's pokemon faints so they send out their 3rd pokemon.
A 2-on-2 member battle: 1 pokemon Member 1's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 2's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 3's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 4's pokemon is on the field battling.
A 2-on-2 member battle: 2 pokemon Member 1's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 2's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 3's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 4's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 1's pokemon faints so they send out their 2nd pokemon.
A 2-on-2 member battle: 3 pokemon Member 1's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 2's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 3's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 4's pokemon is on the field battling. Member 1's pokemon faints so they send out their 2nd pokemon. Member 1's pokemon faints so they send out their 3rd pokemon. Member 1's pokemon faints so they are out of the battle. Member 2 sends out their second pokemon to replace their fallen member but Member 2 controls their own pokemon.
How To Challenge: First, PM the people you want involved and see if you can arrange something. If this doesn't work out, you can request a battle in the Shoreline board (its in The Beach area). Here's the template to fill out and PM:
Code:I declare a challenge in the Colosseum maze!
Challenged Member: How many pkmn will battle:
Fill out below ONLY if you're having a tag-team battle. Otherwise leave blank. My Battle Buddy: |
|
Make sure to first discuss with the member you want to have as a battle buddy and that they agree if you're having a tag-team battle.
If You've Been Challenged: Be honest in your response. If you don't want to battle, that is your decision.
Once Everyone Says Yes: Start a thread here and then everyone must make an opening rp post and include their stats so we all know how strong each pokemon is. Once everyone has done so, it is essential you keep track of everything that happens. Use your good judgement when choosing to dodge an attack or be affected by a status condition, avoiding it too much is known as godmodding and this isn't very fair nor is it fun for anyone else. Dodging and such depends on your pokemon's IQ level so having a higher IQ will be an advantage.
When Its Over: Training: When the battles over, a moderator (if none comes, PM one to help you) will post at the end everyone's completed stats and they can use those to replace their old ones in their RPG Profile. Battle: When the battles over, an admin will post at the end everyone's completed stats and they can use those to replace their old ones in their RPG Profile. The loser will have items and an amount of money deducted from them and that will be given to the winner. The items/money exchanged will be posted by the admin.
Glossary: Train: To train against a member where you both just gain experience points. Battle: To battle a member where you both gain experience points but the winner will receive a prize and the loser will have items and money deducted. Battling: To be in a battle whether it is a true battle for prize or just a training battle. Back-up pokemon: Your pokemon that aren't battling if you're battling with 3 pokemon in a 1-on-1 member battle or 2 or 3 pokemon in a 2-on-2 member battle. 1-on-1 member battle: A battle where one member is battling against another. 2-on-2 member battle: A battle where one member has teamed up with another member and they are battling 2 other teamed up members. Also reffered to as tag-team battling. Battle Buddy: The member you teamed up with. Also reffered to as team mate. Pkmn: Abbreviation for pokemon.
